Can anyone help me with this. The air con cluth works half the time it switched in every time the prob is switching it out, it seems to stick in. The air is cooler than normall when set to cold and the cluthin but i can turn the knobs to warm and air heats up but the cluth says in. Could it be a simple relay sticking

Would that casue the cluth to stay in even when i'm trying to turn it off but turning on the hot air. Just to let you know when i press the EC button the cluth will switch out straigh away.

Do you have climate control fitted? The internal temperature sensor may be faulty.

On the whole it doesn't sound as if there is a problem here - unless of course this is new behaviour. The climate control on my vehicle is always quicker at engaging the compressor that disengaging it. The only problem that I have found is that as the temperature sensor is in the roof (by the rear view mirror I believe) the temperature of the air at the vents can be effected by the vent positions e.g. pointing the vents to the roof means that they stop blowing cold air more quickly than if they are pointed down.

As I understand it the only surefire way to switch the clutch out is to use the EC button.

If gas is low then as a safety measure the clutch wont engage (the gas contains the compressor's lubricant).

The fact that use of the EC button disengages the clutch immediately shows that the relay isn't sticking.

as far as i know i do have climate control but have no idea how to use it as i got book with the car. There is a vent up beside the rear view mirror alrite. But once i roll the temp switch to the middle or hot position should the cluth not switch out.

mick, the clutch will stay engaged until the EC is turned on...regardless of the temp setting.

i don't think you have a problem
