E200 imobiliser problem

Sometimes the immobiliser plays up on this '96 E200.

The doors unlock but the indicators do not do their two blinks and the car will not start. The red and green lights on the mirror are then flashing.

It then takes 5 - 10 minutes of locking and unlocking before the indicators give their two blinks and it will start.

****** annoying, and ideas what it might be???

In your hand book it gives you the re sync instructions try that first, if no joy, come back.
