e200 w124 manifold vacum pipes

hi all - i have recently replaced head gasket & head skimmed problem is can some one please tell the right order for the vacum pipes as my idle is all over the place thanks pleeeeeeeease help!!!!!!!! pete :(

Hi Pete. The usual vacuum pipe to be missed altogether is the one from the gearbox (usually white) which hides away under the air intake ducting and connects into the top of the second inlet manifold branch from the rear.

cheers tom i will look in to that onfriday my day off i am also tempted to replace the inlet manifold gasket the original looked ok but one can`t be to sure, i swear i can hear a hissing noize that area.

A disconnected vacuum pipe will give you this kind of noise, so fingers crossed it is that simple!

Hi Peter. Tried to e-mail you but it bounced back to me undeliverable?

That's correct what you say. it's a pressure regulator on the gearbox I think. Hope you can solve your problem without too much trouble, I'm having problems simply changing brake discs at the moment! We'll both enjoy a malt or three imminently I think.
