I recently purchased a 1995 N Reg E200 w124 with auto tranmission and only done 79k with full service history.
The car drives very nice but the day i bought it the transmission fluid started to leak when i took the car down the motorway.The only way i found out was that it went on the exhaust and caused alot of smoke while i was driving!
I took it to my mechanic and he found the previous owner had filled far too much transmission fluid and it leaked from the gearbox as there was too much.
He drained the transmission oil then filled it up again to the required level.
The car does not leak any transmission fluid anymore.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and if i should be worried?
