Anyone changed their rear subframe front bushes on E210 E Class. Mine are shot to bits and appear to be about £30 to buy. What are they like to fit?

Mine need doing also, and unless any one has better advise it looks like dropping the subframe to get em out.... If that has to happen at least it'll give access to those brake pipes above it and chance to replace them with copper brake pipe..
By the way thanks to the group... I suffered the bas/asr light thing and loss of cruise control while on holiday in france recently, and on return checked the forum, changed the brake light switch and prob solved.. Good work guys,i'd never have thought of that being the problem..

Very common fault - almost should be a service item and changed every 12,000 miles :D:(:D

Not had mine done yet, but local indie quoted £405 including parts. He reckoned it was about a 4 hr job. Be interested to know how you get on.

yes we have .not too bad a job if you have a 2 post ramp and a good air chistle to get out and a press or vice to refit . Both sides took 4 hours in total watch out for theabs wires !

Yes quite common now - I've never heard of them going in 12000 miles though! Seems to be the fronts that go mostly. Easy to change on a ramp with a bottle type jack. Remove both front mount bolts together (it wont drop much, about 5") to gain access. I think MB times are about 3-4 hours.
