I believe the ignition key is basically the same from the A to the S these days. When you say 'not accepting' what do you mean. Doesn't it go in, start, turn etc ?

Yes, it is the same key, the problem is the key will not turn, the steering lock is disengaged. I am pretty sure the problem lies within the central gateway which I believe is an integral part of the ignition switch (ELCODE) system.

Hi

On your car the central gateway is a seperate control unit to the EIS (electronic ignition switch) although the fault could be in CGW (central gateway) I would suspect the EIS first, in any case you would need a full read out of fault codes to make a decision, In the short term a hard reboot of the whole car may well sort the problem ( dissconect the batt for 5 mins then reconnect) Note you will have to normalise windows and sun roof and reset the clock
