E220 bluetec c207 p2471 error code

Hi all. Wanted a bit of advice please. Service engine and gearbox on my 2014 e220 coupe over the weekend and straight after service engine light came on. Error code is p2471 (exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 1 sensor 4.) Is this sensor connected to the lead that runs around the edge of the gearbox sump pan? Thanks for any help. Kevin

Hi Kevin this will most likely be located on the exhaust. How ever I'm sure there might also be 2 located close to the turbo. I have replaced 2 in the past. You will find diagrams ont tinternet. Did your car go into limp mode. Its best to get these sorted ASAP as the car won't regen while showing the fault. The next fault will be soot accumulation.

No limp mode, running really sweet. Just seemed a coincidence as there is a cable clipped to the gearbox sump that seems in the correct location and was a bugger to unclip as someone in the past had used cable ties. I have reset code and it reappear the next day so definitely an issue. Thanks for the heads up. I believe sensor 4 is the one after the dpf? Kind regards Kevin

Maybe the sensor is just on its way out, if its the original sensor it's about the same time mine went bad. The sensors have a tolerance between them I think it's 50°c soon as the temp gap is bigger than 50°c the car usually goes into limp mode. I used to let it run for 2 minutes then restart the car and it would be out of limp mode as the temps stabilise. Iv only ever had the soot accumulation code once.
