Hi my E220 Cabriolet boot used to auto lift but doesn't now. How do I adjust the boot lid springs?

Help.

Thanks

You haven’t added something to it like a spoiler, for example. Extra weight can sometimes mess up the fine balance of the springs.

No additions. I’ve read you can adjust the tension on the boot springs but no advice how to increase the tension.

Do not adjust the tension until you have cleaned and lubed the hinges

Cleaned and lubricated hinges already just need to find out how to adjust the spring tension.

Get in to the boot with a pice of strong cord , and put a loop over existing spring hook , will help if someone closed the boot a little at the same time .Then pull on it and use another hole in the bracket to tension the spring .If no extra holes then you will need a new spring .
