E220 Cdi Bonnet Catch Flimsy

THE BONNET CATCH UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BROKEN
AND CANT PULL THE CABLE HAVING STUDIED THE PROBLEM
I THOUGHT HOW FLIMSY AND DELICATE THE CATCH IS
a little piece of thin plastic holding the cable end

MY QUESTION LADS IS,
IS IT RELATIVELY EASY TO REPLACE THE CATCH
AND IS THE CATCH EXPENSIVE [ ballpark figure anyone]

These things normally break when the locks under the bonnet need lubbricating. Don't worry about it being plastic, its probably a safety/injury issue.
If no one else answers can you tell me where it is on your car, and car model.
