Mercedes E220 A/T CDI (08)
I recently bought an E220 Avantgarde CDI with just 4kmiles (08 upgrade from my E240 (00). I am getting unwelcome feedback through the accelerator which is most annoying, it is sort of a mild vibration. I notice on a very very smooth road that it is hardly noticeable. Could this result from sport suspension in Avantgarde or could it be feedback from road via tyres? Or something else? I never drove a sport suspension before - can I expect some discomfort? Any ideas please before I visit Main Dealer. Thanks TomH

There has been some rumblings about the new c class and it appears to be a gearbox cum torque convertor problem causing vibration within the car,
take it back to the dealer and if the problem isnt sorted, make sure you put your next complaint in writing to the dealer..

Could also be from sport suspension. Sports suspension are generally more stiffer than normal to handle the road better, it will in turn allow you to feel more of the road as well.. so any bumps, cracks and dips in the road.. you'll know about it ;) lol.

I see you had a E240 before, this would be a great bit "smoother" than a E220cdi. Could it be you're just not used to the lack of smoothness of a diesel. Ideally you should try and drive another E220cdi to see if its a characteristic of the car, and if not then take to dealership and make it "their problem".

I also have an e220 cdi 2007 estate and on a very smooth road it feels as though there is a stone in the tyre, no stones but it might be tyre wear it has 16000 mls on the clock and I am taking it into the dealer next week so I will post the result.
