E220 cdi x reg

Whilst driving my e220 cdi there was smoke coming in to the cabin from the dashboard and footwells i switched the engine off and all was well but a few miles later all lights came on the dash and the abs kicked in also asr esp speedo went round to 160mph and all electric windows went down.Any help would be appreciate asap.

So sorry this one I cant think what has happened.

The only thing that I can suggest is to remove the fuse and relay box covers under the bonnet. these boxes house all of the electronics and the boxes terminate in the cab.

Take the lids off and smell inside the boxes for any burnt smell

sounds like a short out somewhere. I suspect you'll need an auto electrician and some luck.

Have been told today that maybe it could be the ecu or ecus as i have been told they have 2.Seemingly after about 200k the heat sink can fail in the ecu has anyone else heard of this fault.Thanks
