e220 failure to start

hi guys would like a little help have e220 coupe which has starting problem the car will start 90% of the time but other times it just turns over and rev counter goes little mad and it will not go have replaced fuel pump battery plugs and leads and still not discovered the problem any help would be greatly appreciated as i am at my wits end by the why car is m reg 1995
