Hi folks,
I have a 1994 E220 estate with 150K on the clock that has just started causing me a series of problems. The rear self-leveling suspension appears to have stopped working. The hydraulic fluid reservoir is on minimum (no leaks in system found) and he rear end is slightly high suggesting the back suspension is still pumped up and the fluid has not returned to the reservoir when the load was removed from the boot - control valve problem? However, the rear end is jumping up and down on the springs (with no appaenr damping) when you drive and feels like both shock absorbers have failed! Would the occur if the self-leveling system failed in which case both shock absorbers are ok and it's probably the control valve or would the self leveling sytem fail if the shock absorbers are broken? Hope this makes sense! If it is the shock absorbers would both fail at once?
Any Ideas?
Regards
