e270 cdi 2003 knocking noise when driving over potholes

Hi I have

e270 cdi 2003 avantgarde

When i drive over any potholes etc i get a loud clonking noise only from the front left wheel/shock area.

Ideas if you have any please would be really helpful

Hi,

I have a W208 CLK320. Also had the clunking noise over potholes etc.
Turned out to be the Anti Roll Bar bushes which cost a little over £22 for all 4 from the agents and about 20 minutes to change - Problem solved!

Have since heard of 3 other CLK's that have have had the same problem.

Hundreds of folk have had that noise. more post on here than any other

It could be the bottom ball joints and the ball joints that connect to the arb links.
