E270 Cdi

Hi all,

I have always driven a petrol, have recenty bought a e270 cdi 2003. I have noticed that it still makes alot of noise when you stop at lights or wherever you have to stop. Is this normal?, i was thinking the mercedes would be more refined?

Secondly, i am wanting to fit Xenon light in my car, any advice on the purchase and fitting of a xenon HID kit? Any reccomendations for a kit in glasgow?

The 270CDI engine is a bit rough and gruff, unfortunately.

Agreed. My E270 is a bit rougher than I would have liked, but that said, my previous car was the slightly gutless but silky E240 so comparisons are hard. I considered an E220 as it is noticably smoother but I prefer the grunt of the 270. That said, it's not actually rough, just rougher than you'd expect from a merc and passengers don't seem to notice. Once rolling, though she's quiet and smooth.
