Hi all ive got a 2003 e270d had about a ,had the dreaded valeo problem all done under warranty 4k, i was looking at changing paranoia has set in but i realy love the car its done 60k.my only concern is now the warranty has expired what are the engines like are they good for high mileage sorry for going on many thanks dave

I know the uneasiness that you may be feeling, sometimes a CAT may block up, but there are 1000's around where nothing ever goes wrong, enjoy the car, there is a lot more life in it

These engines, can, and have done in some cases for 500k miles. The valeo rad is unrelated to the integrity of the engine block and can be swapped for a Behr one or a separate gearbox oil cooler fitted for complete "glycol protection".

As you've presumably had a new gearbox the car has heaps of life left in it. I'd go out there and enjoy it.
