E280 - Good Value?

Hi,i'm looking to buy my first mercedes,and have seen at my local dealer a E280 AVANTGUARDE AUTO 2000/V with 20,000 miles on the clock for 17k.I was wondering what sort of economy quality this car would be?Also is it as good a buy as I seem to be finding or should I avoid!?
It is a bit of a toss up between an a-class diesel lwb and a proper car!!!

Invest £3.25 or £3.50 in a What Car or Parker's guide. The quality will be good; fuel economy less so - both covered in the book. It seems like an OK deal but not a steal, IMO. I was asking recently about an E240 and people were raving about the diesel models, FWIW.

The Honest John site is pretty good.....however those reviews are probably enough to scare any prospective buyer away :biggrin:
