My 1998 E300 is leaking water down the C pillars which i guess is coming in from the sunroof??
Is there a drain going to the C pillar ?
The sunroof does not open fully so i imagine something has come adrift up in the roof lining.
Can anyone suggest a remedy before we start ripping off trim which never goes back quite the same!! or has anyone got a drawing of the mechanics of the sunroof please.

Many thanks for any help.

before you attempt to remove/fix the sunroof it's worth bearing in mind that this is not a job for the inexperienced DIY mechanic. Take your car to a sunroof specialist, trust me it will be cheaper in the long run. It's so easy to damage the roof mechanism and you'll need specialist tools to remove the roof.

If you want copies of the roof diagrams they are on the W124 maintainance CD's - drop me a line I'll send them.

The leak was actually coming from the roof rails where someone had not replaced the washers on the bolts.
As for the sunroof not opening that was mangled cables in the plastic tubes which have been replaced and it now works and is dry.
Many thanks for the help much appreciated.
