E300 TD - thermostat & bulb query - newbie

Morning guys.

I'm new here, just bought an E300 TD 1997 .

I have 3 questions, hope you can help.

1) Where's the thermostat ?
2) How do I replace a bulb in the temp guage
3) When I lock the car with the electronic key, the alarm goes off - any ideas ??

the dash bulb is a binacle out job ! there is a how to on this (use search ). check the bat in your key mine went of when the bat was on the way out .you could also check the settings on the dash (interior sensor/tow switch)

You should investigate changing the gearbox fluid and filter, they're rarely done on these cars.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice so far.

I've found the thermostat on the left side of the engine (as you look at it) - odd place as I expected it to be near the top hose.

Autobox - yes I've just been reading your thread on how to do that - looks easy enough .
