E300 Turbodiesel Mirror switch

The "fold mirror in switch" on my '99 e300TD doesnt work properly...it starts to move when i press the button in then just freezes but if i tap it repetedly they will fold in but wont fold out again.....could this be a faulty relay?
any ideas will be great

Probably a faulty switch.

As Black, other than that the mirrors do go tight on the swivel part, spray some PTFE or Silicon into the moving parts.

Some switches like for window can become dry soldered
