E300 Won't Start

Hi,
I have an 1998 E300 D that started yesterday and then stopped after a short distance and won't start. Is it the diesel pump or could it be anything else.

It could be the crankshaft sensor and that is the most common fault,,£47 from a Bosch service center

They measure 1K ohm when good on a ohm meter
