I've a 1996 E 300D Estate which has just decided to throw a minor wobbly with the ABS. All seems to work OK but if the speed is increased above about 80mph - on a private road, of course - the ABS warning lamp comes on and won't go off unless the ignition is switched off. It then remains off until the speed goes over 80 mph again.
The only other symptom is a couple of light taps under your foot just as the car comes to a halt, ie at about 1mph, or less. Nothing locks up, though.
Have I got a duff wheel speed rotation sensor (or worse) or might I get away with cleaning them up?
Either way, any hints and tips/pictures/blogs, etc
