E300TD 1998 Dash clocks/fuel system

I have a E300TD avantgarde auto 1998 on a R plate,is this a common rail diesel engine i have fitted,
Also i am emmigrating to New Zealand in june this year and the merc is being shipped over too.I need the speedo clocks changing over to km as the car would keep its value,also it would be easier to read the clocks.
Mercedes has priced the work at approx £800 but would prefer to try and get a secondhand km clock and have it fitted and reprogrammed cheaper.
Any help on this post would appreciated

This engine is not common rail. It has an in line pump.

Why not wait until you are in Nz and just buy a second hand speedo unit. Your existing head has Km markings as well as miles, so keeping to limits wont be a problem.

Thanks for the reply dieselman but the problem in New Zealand is i don`t think there is any merc breakers and to have the work carried out by the MB dealers is expensive over there as i am going to the south island not the north,it might be worth me trying to find dash clocks from a breakers in europe say germany,i could fit them myself as i am a mechanic but its the programing that needs to be done,MB price was approx £400 just to fit and program the clocks.

There are plenty of 'garages' in the UK that advertise 'Mileage Adjustment' same thing but for about £60! look in adtrader or local free ad papers. Get it done before you go..... I would have thought in this world of the euro it would be relatively simple to get a set of s/h clocks from europe (lots of diesel mercedes!)

There is no problem finding someone to recalibrate the clocks here in manchester provided a can locate the correct km clocks,
I have tried breakers in germany but the websites are in german
My car gets shipped in three weeks so i am struggling to get this done.
If any mb members wishes to surf around europe in their sparetime this weekend to try and locate any clocks that would be great help

When you ring Revtech can you find out whether they sell general diagnostic software and connection hardware for E300 Turbo diesels, and any other useful services they supply.

Thanks for the info about revtech they have now done the job to my clocks changing mph to kph it cost £250 it took around half an hour to fit and reprogram the system

Incidentally my wifes FIAT has the option of Miles or Km at the touch of a button. Easy.
