Hi to everyone on here. This is my first post, not for me but a friend who doesn't have internet access (strange but true).
He has a E class 300 turbo diesel estate 1998. About a month ago, some electrical gremlins appeared.
The sunroof and windows started opening on their own, when the car was parked up. He cured this by not locking the car when it was parked in the garage, but obviously has to be careful where he parks it when in town as when he locks it, after around 10 mins the sunroof and windows all opened.
Anyway about a week ago he came to lock it, but now it wont lock. The indicators flash to indicate that it is locked, but the mechanism wont lock.
Before he takes it to a MB agent, does anyone have any pointers to what the fault might be.
I am reasonably handy with vehicle electronics, but have to say with this vehicle, not sure where to start.
