Hi, can anyone recommend a sealant to cure my leaking tank. I've seen various types advertised but don't know which is the best one. Can't afford £500 for a new one.
Thank's in advance, Scott
I had a leak on the filler pipe on the wifes 124 estate. I fixed it temporarily with a big jubilee clip and a little piece of rubber just over where the pin hole was. It did the job until i was able to take the tank out and weld it. The 124 filler pipe gets thrashed with road grime and salt etc suppose that starts the corrosion.
If the hole is small a self tapper and a rubber washer can do the trick. Dads old Ford Corsair still has that quick fix in place.
As C230k for the best part, it depends on where the leak is, there are some tank sealant products, but the tank needs to come off to apply it, if its around where that tank meets the neck the that can be soldered by flowing solder all around the join.
