Hi, does anyone have access to a wiring schematic for a 1999 E300TD please and can tell me where the Main Beam relay is located in the car?

The symptoms are that main beam does not work when selected but the main beam flasher is fine. I assume there is a relay in the circuit somewhere.

Many thanks

Tom

I also think it must be the main combination switch as I cant find a relay.

Hi

I dont think there is a main beam relay on the E300TD, it is something that i always thought MB was poor at. The Japs nearly always have them on theirs but any of the 201's, 202's 124's or 210's i have encountered dont have them as far as i know.
Fitting relays next to the lights really helps the voltage at the bulb and obviously the brightness too.

Not too bad with Xenon due to the lower current, a bit hard on the switch without a relay

Hi Tom,
I have a problem like you had on your E300TD my E320cdi has a high beam problem also that most of the time it will not go on high beam, then for some reason works fine, like you thought relay problem, the car has only 60K and would not have thought it would need the combination switch but after reading the replies you had perhaps it needs one.
Did a new one solve your problem? and is it poss to replace it yourself, have never removed airbag before? a reply from you would be great, thanks John

Afraid this car has to go my first and last merc
