Can anyone help I have no power to one of the coils therefore 2 cylinders are down. The coil is fine but doesnt seem to be getting any power to it. Could the engine management computer be faulty?

I have a 1993 300e 3.2 liter with the same type of problem.
It originally started with a little missing on a cylinder, changed plugs, got worst, egine wiring harness was real bad, changed it, now the second coil,
the one that fires cylinders 2 and 5 is not firing. Changed coils around, changed boots around, problem remains constant on the same coil two location. Surmize its not the coil, its not the wires, its not the boot under the coil. WHat can it be. Have just pulled some codes off the diagnostic link
from position 8.
Codes are 4, 9, 13, 22, 23
NOw all I need to do is find out what these codes mean.
Are you still having a problem? please let me know if you fixed it, I will do the same

It appears that some of the codes were residual as after I cleared them, ran the car for awhile (10 minutes in the driveway) the codes for pos#8
are now only 4,13, and 22.
You mentioned what 22 and 23 are, what does 4 and 13 stand for.

thanks

Could it be because I have not replaced cross pipe and MAF and intake air temp sensor which I removed while changing the plugs, and wiring harness.

Hi,
I see you guys can read and interpret the diagnostic outputs ? How do you do that ? Is it a connection to a laptop and some software ? I just shelled out £60 to a garage to diagnose a duff coil on my C200 and its not much better with a second hand one from Dronsfields ! Leads next I think; mine are pattern ones and although they look new they dont click onto the plugs nicely.

Must say I think I prefer W124s; they are more solid and easier to play with ?
Oh or a 500 SEC perhaps ?

Ian
