Hi,

I have recently acquired an E320 1996 Cabriolet, with a wheel speed sensor issue. I have changed a wheel speed sensor but it is still not working, so I am wondering if it is the one on the other side that isn't working.

My problem is I can't find any information anywhere on what the wheel speed sensor voltages should be at different speeds so I can compare the readings with my own. Currently one side has a much higher voltage than the other.

Can anyone help with some example voltage readings please?

Thanks

Hello and welcome,

Did you replace with Mercedes speed sensor or an aftermarket one?

Aftermarket can give different readings (Twice speed etc)

Hi, it has been replaced with a Mercedes speed sensor but I did have to make some adjustments as the parts are hard to come by. Mercedes Benz told me to make one myself.

I'm still not sure which one is giving off incorrect readings as I can't find a base line for any of the readings. Eg if it was 5V at 5mph as a general rule I could say its the one I didn't change that's causing an issue.

Thankyou

If you put it on diagnostics and look at live data you'll quickly see which one is failing. The issue you have is finding someone with diagnostic kit that will work with the 38 pin connector (and an OBD2 to 38 pin adapter won't work).

Thanks, the issue is finding someone with the HHT. I have access to a diagnostic kit, but unfortunately it doesn't help unless I have the HHT. The car has a 16 pin connector.

I have 14 and 38 pin stuff but no 16 pin stuff unfortunately.

Please throw some more light on how and where you are measuring this voltage.
