E320 1997 Avantgarde - Heating not working properly

When switching on the heating control, the air is not circulating throught the air vents.
Any ideas before I book it into the garage and get another huge bill.

Is the heater warmer when the car is stationary and get cooler when on the move if so.
Try removing the pollen filter and give the heater a try once the car has reached operating temperature If it?s warm now just replace the pollen filter. Cost about £15

It is the same when switching on the cooler, there is no air flow being pumped out of the vents.

Is there a pump or motor for distributing the air flow through the vents.
