E320 1999. Rattle/doyng noise over front nearside wheel

This noise happens when I go over a bump - any clues as to what it is?

First post by the way - new owner of an E320 saloon T reg with 12500 miles - someone must have parked it up for 4 years!

Hi

The first thing to check is the front anti roll bar links. These are notrorious for giving rattling noises over bumpy ground.

I replaced front antirollbar bushes on my E280 as I was annoyed with the noises you have described. Total transformation... Remember to apply some vaseline to the bushes as they slide over the bar to stop them squeaking when they dry out.

The alarm bracket had come loose and was vibrating when going over bumps. Took a lot of finding!

Drop links...replace them every 25-30k and all will be well. They are not expensive and make such a difference.
