i take it its a 210, if so you have a seized cooling fan on the ecu, thats blown the fuse, under bonnet on the near side is a cover with four philips screws, lift that of and trace the red 10amp blown fuse, replace, follow that board alone to find two wires twisted to gether, disconnect, should be job done!

I don't think your looking at the same box as Cole has described. The main fuse box is on the drivers side under the bonnet, Cole is describing the ECU box on the passenger side.

Your very welcome shadowfax, used to see that fault a lot back in the day, No just unplug and leave it alone, its not needed in this country, you can do it yourself, bit of a fiddle but easy to replace, good result!!!!!!

the plug for the fan is at the end of that fuse block, near the engine, the wires are twisted roung each other like a computer fan, a lot of dealers just cut them but i always pulled the plug, if you have any probs i will pm you my number!!

Wow but my faults still showing????

Hi all,
Well 20 mile from home we had the same problems ABS light & ESP showing so I turned engine off & guess what--no crank!
4 hours & one AA patrol & 1 recovery truck we got home.
Whats the 1st thing I do but come to your forum & I changed the fuse & unplugged the fan wow the big Merc started but the dash is still showing ABS & Brake assist fault:(
Any ideas?
I can not believe how good this site is & hats off to you guys.
I was so worried as I have no money for repairs at the mo & you guys have made my year!!!
Many Thanks.

Do turn the steering 3 times from lock to lock and see if the ESP light goes out
