hi all again right new car to me changed oil and filter flushed engine as tappet noise and still there ??? plus i have noitced when i acelate not hard in other car head lights is a smoke screen oh and it had a new air filter to is there any other filter or anything to tame the smoke down please help the tappets i need help with spent good monet buying this car so i need help i am in blackpool if anyone can help many thanks john

have the same engine and a similar problem. changed air filter and added diesel injector cleaner, problem loads better and only done 1/4 of a tank of the diesel cleaner mix.

Assuming yours is not a mechanical problem for a £5'er it's worth a go.

just bought a bottle of millers deisel cleaner so just put some in the tank is there any breather pipes i need to check and clean or turbo pipes i need to check

The EGR valves on these engines tend to stick and will cause the engine to smoke.. the valve can be lubricated and made to work for its money again...

You will always be able to notice smoke in your rear view mirror at night when it is illuminated by the headlights behind,, diesel exhaust will never look perfectly clear like a petrol car. Check your smoke under natural light conditions, you could be wasting your cash on un necessary cleaners.

smoke looks ok in day light even hard rev not smoke to the point you can see it but seems a bit under powerd and a bit heavey on fuel and still got his tappet noise and new o and filters
