Some further information, the indicator lamps stopped working on taking the car for a run they came on OK after about 6 miles, the following morning not working and noticed the reversing light were not working either, two days later still not working, having looked through the forums the N10 relay is mentioned, could someone tell me were the N10 is located please, everything else seems to work fine, would really appreciate some help.

Sorted the indicators it was a 12 fuse on the fuse board on the O/S dash, but still have a problem with the reverseing lights with the message still says 'Lamp Defective' . Help still needed please.

You've checked the reversing lamp, right?

It's also worth checking the earthing plate on the lamp fitting. I used to have a problem where I would be told that a brake lamp was defective, and yet the lamp worked.

It was only when it didn't the one day that I took a closer look. It turned out that the earthing back plate for the light cluster had warped slightly giving that brake light an intermittent connection. A quick adjustment of the actual lamp holder connectors (as they are easier to adjust) sorted the problem.

The lamp defective message is only cleared after you've turned the ignition off and only comes on as you use that particular lamp.

Hi, Sorted the reverse lamps, everything works except now the wipers do about three sweeps when I switch on the ignition and parks anywhere when it stops, any ideas will certainly be appreciated.

Wipers.

The single wipe mode is done by a worm driven cam wheel with a parking position on the wheel for the switch. The main wiping mode uses another switch wired over the parking switch contacts, so that when you turn the main switch off, the parking switch takes over and stops in the correct position.

If the wipers are coming on every time with the ign, then stopping anywhere, you can forget the wiper itself as the power to it is disappearing before it can park, and should not come on anyway.

The wiper is controlled from the main N10 relay, that is the large one in the fuse box, these boxes do get dry joints that could cause this. The last time the owner cleaned the contacts on the bottom and it worked OK using a good quality switch cleaner.

Its always hard trying to work out odd faults, the N10 box is an expensive lump, but soldering up normally solves them, tap the box with a screwdriver handle with the ign on, to see if you can make it do it.

Hi,
All my electrics are working as new, the lead with the large white cable holder that connects to the N10, I believe, was loose and that kept the wipers parking anywhere, but many thanks for the help from both of the members who took the trouble to reply to my plea for help, again many thanks.
