:rolleyes:Hi I'm having the old probs with the clock outside temp etc display, can anyone help by telling how to get speedo cluster out for a start and also what the faults may be.I've been told that it's just a soldering job and the firms who repair the only take an hour so it can't be that much but they want £150 for it.Has anyone heard of any cheaper or is it a diy job,I'm fairly good with that sort of stuff but need to be put in the right direction
lok forward to replies.thanks maxwell:confused:

As Ellsy they can be pushed out or pulled.

The fault is on the ribbon cables where they connect on the PCB and they need pacing out with wedges to give a better contact

In all fairness, I had one in the other day that was impossible to push out, there was no room for your hands, since got the keys.

if you've stripped down the cluster (per the pics) you will see the two white ribbon cables going up into the display boxes. Basically you are attemting to wedge something to maintain an upwards pressure on the connection.

The wires need packing individually with tiny wedges, you cant do it all in one go
