I have looked at a lot of the threads on dashlights and this issue does not seem to be covered.

Basically, there are 2 lights (I think) on the dashboard - one on the left hand side and one on the right hand side as you look at it.

At night, when I have my lights on, The one on the right only comes on after about 15-20mins driving - and then stays on, no problem. When I stop and start again, it goes off and comes on after 15-20minutes. The one on the left is fine.

Dimmer dial works - no issues there.

So I don't want to take it to a garage as Intermittent problems are the most expensive ones to fix - bulb is fine, it just seems to only work when the engine is warm.

Any ideas?

Mine also does this sometimes, I have to tap it like the Millennium Falcon to get it to come on. I really don't fancy taking out the instrument cluster to get to the bulb though.

I've noticed that releasing the parking brake handle seems to affect it so I guess the bulb and/or connection is loose.

One of my lights was a bit like that, a good thumb on the dash and it came on. I haven't tried this yet but there is some stuff you can get from Hellfords to smear on electrical connections. It's meant for earthing points but I guess putting some on the bulb would help.

The instrument cluster comes out easily

this makes sense - the dash was loose when i bought it and there were a few screws missing from the handbrake - but I don't fancy pulling out the dash. It's due for a service soon so I will get it looked at then. Thanks for your ideas!

Bulb for sure, this seems to affect the capless bulbs more for some reason.
