E350 brake light switch.

hi. When these are changed do you slide the switch into the housing as far as it goes ??

Is it a type of brake switch with an adjustable plunger? On a Smart, you pull the plunger out as far as possible while the brake pedal is pressed, when you release the pedal, it should push the plunger back in to the correct place.

This is the switch. Dated 2016 . Around the year when mb had a recall to change them as they were faulty. Mmmmmm ??
