E350 Convertible 2011
Hi, had mercs a long time but bought my first convertible in Nov last year - very low mileage and one owner FSH etc - good car. intermittently the roof leaks at the osf (above driver at the front of the roof) i have used some gummi pflege stift on the rubber sections, hard to tell if that works as i apply it when dry and doest rain again for some time - sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt and persists to leak. i wondered if anyone has any experience on this problem and any ideas on rectification, ive heard that the fabric roof is unlikely so not undue worry there, but wondering if there was anything else anyone thought i could try? thanks in advance

I suppose some form of roof adjustment maybe if the roof is ever so slightly out of alignment ??
If when you look at the rubber roof seal , you may be able to put a thin piece of additional rubber under/in one of the seal gaps to see if that works , start small first . You can buy thin rubber strips/strings/profiles on eBay for a couple of quid a metre

Hi Whighty., that’s great thanks for that advice. As I didn’t even know it had a drain down the A pillar.. I’m going to check that today. As it only leaks when rains (obvs :)) but when stood/parked. Then even if it’s raining even hard, when moving and driving it stops ingress!? Thanks for that though will have a check of that firstly. What’s your take on the gumminpflege?

Gummi is always recommended . The more wealthy convertible owners use Krytox .
I would hazard a guess though that if you have been treating the seals it’s probably not that ??
You could if you get some dry weather , give the roof a clean and reproof as you are doing everything else
