Hi all, I have a 2005 e55 amg and am considering a performance upgrade. Originally I was considering Kleemann k1 but as I live in Liverpool it was difficult to arrange. I am now considering dms stage 2 upgrade (basically the same upgrade and price), who will travel to my house to do the work. DMS seem to have an excellent reputation from forums on Mercedes, Porsche and BMW, and magazine reviews. I am interested in anyone who has had this upgrade to their e55 or sl55 for a while, if there has been any problems with the engine or transmission. Would really appreciate a reply, thanks.

Dreaming of a CL55k - one day maybe....
Can you remap a CLK320 running LPG?

Hi there,

I am going to convert a CLK320 to run LPG. Now I know the car is ok to run it, however I also know that LPG has a much higher octane than regular petrol (about 101 / 102 RON) however it has a lower calorific value....

To get the best out of it, I understand that you need to advance the timing a little - ideally by around 3 or 4 deg.

HOWEVER if you then run on regular unleaded you can get serious "pinking" so most people don't bother.

I'm quite happy to use the better petrol (I won't be using much so it doesn't matter) but that is still only going to be 98 RON.

I have spoken to several remap companies, however most only flash a different map over the old one, rather than actually tuning the actual car they are given.

Any thoughts
