e55 exhaust problem

Hi,wonder if anyone can help?One of my cats is breaking down on my w210 e55 amg.Mercedes want £1750+vat!! for just the one.Does anyone know of any aftermarket companies,or have any ideas?Thanks gary

You can purchase after market cats but they are generally cr@p.

The real thing will.

1. Work
2. Fit better
3. Sound better

Just my opinion. These cars are very expensive to maintain and run if things go wrong.

We had a kwikifit cat put on the C220 - sounded crap.
MB don't make the cats themselves so you should be able to get an OEM non badged version if you shop around. We were offered one but it was sadly too late for us.
