Hey everyone I am running Pirelli P zeros at the moment on my E63 and they aren’t the best of tyres, after researching etc I am thinking of going for Michelin’s pilot sport 4s in 255/35/19 and the rears in Michelin’s pilot super sports in 285/30/19 as they don’t make the 4s in that size

is it worth the extra money for the tyres and anyone seen a big difference upgrading to them ?

When I had my W212 I had Continentals initially, a factory fit at the time I think, which I changed to Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. These were excellent tyres on both wet and dry handling but they couldn't handle the torque it was putting out at nearly 1,000ft/lbs, consequently starting to split on the tread blocks. The car was heavily modified and used on a few runways, so I'm not blaming the manufacturer for this.

I replaced these with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 which were excellent and the ones which stayed on the car to be replaced with Asymmetric 3s which I never found quite as good. Apparently the Asymmetric 5, which have taken over from the 3s are also an excellent tyre and well worth a look at. I've had Michelin on my last 2 cars, including the current one, and found them adequate but not much more really. If I keep it long enough, I'll be changing to Goodyear.

I also have PZero's on mt E63 and they are OK in the warm weather, but as soon as it gets cold and damp traction is not great.
I will be changing to Goodyear Asymmetric 5's when the time comes.

Cool I’ll have a look into them or see if I can get a good deal on the Michelin’s

As in Post#7, I found Camskill were the most competitive on price for the Goodyears.

Good to hear, I'm putting 4s on the front of my W213E63 this coming week on advice from.a local tyre place. It already has MPSS on the back.
Guy said in his experience the 4s is better than the SS, and when the time comes, put 4s on the back too

In terms of 4s on rear you can’t get it in the stock size the MPSS are good for the rear if you do want 4s on the back you need to change to 295 30 19 or 285 35 19 but there’s a good difference so far what I can see especially in the wet

I have seen quite a few people have changed to the 295’s on the rear but that tyre is too big for the rim if you look at correct sizes. It may well be fine to run and there wouldn’t be any issues but if you did have a problem and had to go through insurance it might be a problem. I will either be going for the pilot supersports or Goodyear’s I think next time as I can’t stand having mismatched tyres with my OCD haha

Probably not

P zeros offer a good balance between grip & road noise...Granted the Michelins will give better grip but at the expense of more road noise....which can grate after a while!
Perhaps invest in a LSD!! :)

When you say better,as in how?
Less spin, less road noise?
Been advised to stick with the p zeros....but they’re getting a little worn...
