Ebay chancer?

I`ve been carefully watching a tidy c class w202 estate on ebay (item number-150079313533)since last year and the seller wants well over 7 grand by the sounds of things. His starting bid is £6900 and has no bids. What is his car worth? Is he being unrealistic?

Unimpeachable engineering and quality. Utterly composed on all surfaces, loads of grip and benign handling. Manual gearchange is baulky and standard spec levels are miserly. Fantastic residuals.



Rust eats into rear arches. Head gasket failure common on 2.0 petrols. Auto transmission thuds between gears unless fluid and filter is changed every 3yrs. Wiper mechanism costs £800 to fix; catalytic converter costs same.

I had an email from the guy saying that he has it for sale privately as well for even more so he would not come down in price! Also he hasnt kept up the FMSH so its lost its Merc 30 year anti corrosion warranty, and these ones tend to rust (my wifes 2000 W202 did! but it was covered) He is well dreaming.
