Considering installing EBC green stuff brake pads on my 97 E420 sport. Any thoughts on their product?

I'm mechanically inclined but am a little nervous tackling this job (b/c of ABS computers, wear sensors). How much of a "job" am I getting myself into?

Thanks - Chris

EBC pads are fantastic - minimal brake dust, maximum braking power.

I have EBC Reds on my Porsche 911 Turbo - and they work superbly.I chose EBC Reds because I need it for track days with the Porsche Club. Otherwise EBC Green's are great for just road use.

As for fitting the pads, it's dead simple. Knock out the 2 pins on each caliper, remove retainer spring clip, remove the brake pad wear sensor (it just pulls out of the pad and caliper),then pull out the pads from caliper, insert the new ones, fit new sensor wire, refit sring clip and reinsert pins. Worth opening the brake fluid reservoir cap and placing some old material around the base, just incase fluid overflow when inserting the new thicker pads.

Hi,
I have EBC Grennstuff on my 300CE. I'm not that impressed, they do dust less, but braking is if anything inferior to ATE/TEXTAR pads unless they are already warmed up when you hit them. Also they are made slightly bigger than the standard pads and are intended to fit without shims, but not quite big enough allowing some for+aft movement causing a clonk when you brake reversing, then another the first time you brake going forward.
I have modified mine to accept standard shims and will wear them out now. But are they worth 5x the cost of ATE ?
