Eco Stop Start

Hello everyone I have a smart car when eco drive activated everything switches of in my car including the very annoying radio which takes forever to restart. I drive off eco only but would like greater efficiency and save in petrol.??

As above. No electronic gibberish is match for common sense.

In my experience fuel efficiency comes down to two things, good driving style and a vehicle in sound health, not just maintain to pathetic manufacturers so called twaddle recommendations.

As above, but I'd expect the radio to stay on even with the engine stopped. On most cars that I've driven the only items that stop working when eco mode triggers are those driven by the engine e.g., air conditioning, although the fan remains running.
Could there be an auxiliary / convenience battery issue here?
That said I turn my Eco mode off, so that stop start traffic doesn't put more wear and tear on my timing chain engine top end. If I'm stuck in stationary traffic for an obviously long period of time, then I turn the engine off myself.

I was given a mhd Smart as a courtesy car. The radio stayed on when the engine cut .... like wise my ML if I let ECO stop/start. I'd say there was a fault on your Smart.
Stop/start is more of an emissions thing rather than fuel saving.

Try your different driving modes and monitor the mpg , mine gets better mpg in comfort mode compared to economy mode !
