Won't buy it-dang new fangled clicknology-belongs in a lab, not a motor carriage.
Now-where can I get a good steam engine that fits into a 190e?

Ah yes - the Miracle Fuel Saving Device. Previously known as "The Emperor's New Clothes". Clever marketing duping gullible punters, surely?

Aren't these things rather too impossible? Don't you think car engine manufacturers would be doing this if it made a genuine difference? It just seems so unlikely that this tiny (?) company in an industrial unit could have a device that makes a significant difference to modern cars' performance and economy.

Or can someone prove me wrong?

:)

Yes I can. 50 extra MPG per tank. OK it's noisy and thats why major manufacturers dont fit them.

Well, 50 miles extra per tank would be a good start. I might start to believe that, but I still can't understand why manufacturers don't fit similar devices. You say it's noisy, but Mercedes have years of experience in acoustically insulating the engine and components, and I just can't understand why they couldn't do it for this too.

Anyway. We could go on all day, but we'll probably just have to agree to disagree.

I wonder what Mercedes UK would say about these devices. MB must have tested them if they're as good as you say.

After reading the post linked to by Koolvin .. I disabled my Ecotec valve.. and ran the car for 2 weeks... results..were easy to see.. i got ~25-30miles less out of a tank of Normal Unleaded fuel..... If only it wouldn't make that stupid noise...

I know they work the local county council around here has just had them fitted to there fleet cars/vans... along with several buisinesses (who I spoke to before Buying one)

Still Im tempted to leave it dissabled ..its so nice and quiet now..... But as I've just spent 190 quid on drive shafts I need to save money at the mo.

They do need to be re-tuned after about 100 miles or so, maybe that's why there not used by other manufacturers.
