What is this linked into

You must get the codes read out, it could be many things like the loss of a speed signal

Do you have a good indie near you, so much cheaper than MB for a read out, some charge just £25 to £30

EPC is normally shown on dash after a cdi has run out of fuel, "Electronic power control"

I suspect you have a air leak on a fuel line or you have low rail pressure for one reason or another!
