ECU plug connection

Can anyone help me? I cant find where to plug a code reader into a CLK 200K 2001 W208 model. Presumed it was under the dash on the drivers side but cant locate it.

it should be just to the right of the steering column

There is a small flap but nothing behind it!

Try the fuse box under the bonnet, that's where it is in W210 2001.

On your car it is positioned under the bonnet on the right back of the bonnet. near the windscreen in the electrical box. there is a circular cover aprrox 8cm in diamiter with a 13mm plastic nut in the middle, undo this 1/4 turn and it will come off. dianostic plug underneath

I purchased a code reader this weekend to plug into the 38 pin socket on my (x) 2000 CLK 200K w208. However?? (Always a but!!) I cant get it to fit properly? I dont want to force it too much in case i break some thing. It looks as though the cars slot (Round slot under bonnet near air con) has a twist slot but my conector is a push? It would be twist with pins would it?? Any one come across this problem, Or am I the special case ...again!
