you need to contact chip remapping companies. I dont know if that ECU will accept remapping codes, but certainly a performnce tuning firm with the right gear and a rolling road can create a perfomance set up to improve your car. they may need to have your car for a while but they fine tune the car on the rollling road. If I can think of the company I will find a link.

Wont be cheap tho.

superchips are replacement chips. okay if you cant remap your ECU providing its set up for your car ratrher than a generic one. ECU remaps take in more info and replace all standard preset OEM propriatary software thats doesnt need aletring to adjust performance. superchips piggy back on the ECU with an additional chip. Nothing but problems will coem form this.

Dissapointingly, The RICA tuners dont want to do my car, as its 17 years old- Even though it only has 60k miles and is in excellent condition.

And Owen developments only do Motec which would be a complete ECU in itself and cost around 4k :???:

Cheers mate ill try them.

Apparently CKS Performace can do an ECU remap with 'Superchips'.

But im sure superchips are a complete joke?

My bro bought superchip for his BMW 740 a couple years back and did NOT notice the slightest difference.

So im not keen on taking it to them.

Hi Again Merc, Mine's done 170,000 now, had it 5 years and love it to bits. Almost killed myself the first couple of weeks I had it with the amount of power and acceleration available. Drive more sedately now but occasionally floor it to p*** off the boy racers.

how can you remap a car without the car ? sounds like russian roulette peformance chip conversion.
i would go for a k+n filter and a performance exhaust.this may get you 10-15 bhp gain.see if its possble to put 100 cell cats in ,then you would get 15 -20 bhp.

Hi, idea if this is much of help to your issue, but I recently had my CL600 ECU remapped by Superchips on their rolling road and via various internet links to some guys in Germany and I'm
seriously impressed with the results, much more useable power
and torque curve, much better response especially during
'kick down' and the limiter has been removed.

Overall, I'd have no issue recommending them.

'Some' ECU require a 'piggy-back' module that sits ontop
of the standard chip (which, as stated, is to be avoided) but
not all.

If you can find a helpful chap at Superchips HQ, rather than
one of their UK dealers, they are more than happy to put
any car on their rolling road and see if they can generate
a 'bespoke' remap to specific driving styles etc.

Hope that's of 'some' use to you

I have found someone who is a friend of my bros' who ecu-remaps the Range rover superchargers and TVR'S etc.

He said he should be able to get 25-30 BHP from my car. Which isnt bad!

Just hope he can! He will remap the original ecu.

Im having it done next week so i will update you. He said if i dont feel any difference then he will just put it back to the orginal configuration?:D

Any sceptics? Or even Optimists wanna comment? lol

Why would you want to re map a 600, it gets to 60 in 4.5 sec as it is.

Does the old 500 lump run K-Jetronic? I'm didn't think much in the way of electronic tuning worked with these (as compared to modern engines).

Then again, I drive diesels so what do I know! :)

Keep us posted mate.
