I have a Merc C200 Kompressor (2000) and the engine management light on the dash is constantly on. I have had the car 3 years, I have taken it previously to Merc Aid (now Motor Aid) in Basildon Essex and was told that I needed a new air flow meter (I didn't get it done) I then took it back for a rear light not working and a problem with the ignition. I was then told that the engine management light was due to oil leaking into the ECU (I thought it was a sealed unit) from the loom and to replace the ECU loom and harness would cost £1,300-00.
I paid £277.00 for 3 hours and all they did was reset my seat (which isn't working again!!!) and fix a wire to the rear light and told me I needed a new key and ignition!! I am unsure what my next move should be. Any ideas anyone? I don't really want to go back to Merc Aid.
