EEEEK! HELP!

W169 A Class 2006. So just got a disturbing message popped up: SRS system - visit workshop. Popped in to my local garage and the code is as follows:

AB Faults

B1111 (9111). [Status: Current]

Control Unit N2/7 (restraint systems control module) is faulty

Anyone had this before? I thought I'd try unplugging it and cleaning the contacts - but don't know where it is! The garage chap said disconnect the battery, connect the leads together for about ten minutes and then try connecting everything back up again but...

It's my daily and I need to sort it ASAP.

Is there anyone near me (Leicestershire) with a suitable reader who would be prepared to plug it into my car please? I've provisionally booked a slot at the garage but they want it all day just to plug it in! I've no means of getting back from the garage if I drop it off like that so...

I'm a bit too far - near Wellingborough ...

Check fuse 20 - should be 7.5A
Also - check the brake switch, particularly if you get no tempomat (cruise control) working.

PS The seemingly irrelevant ones are there so you can reach the control unit ...
