EIS.... the is the ignition switch that right?...............


As someone told me today (depending on the year....as the car might not have one) it hold's or can hold the true mile's of a car....is this right....the car in question is a 99'.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
it means Electronic ignition switch, its something that lets the car recognize owner/driver as they approach the car. it does not store data.

Yea I know.........but someone said today (from the main dealer believe it or not!!) that they plug something into it and can get the true mile's from it......

I found out (as TV said anyway) there's no way this EIS store's milege, it's just a switch. But after talking to someone else at Merc he said it's a chip behind the clock's ect, that get's reprogrammed......god know's why the first Merc "stealer" told me that...:roll:
